High Cost of Living è un brano scritto e inciso da Jamey Johnson, contenuto nell'album That Lonesome Song pubblicato nel 2008. Seconda fatica discografica per il cantautore dell'Alabama, lo conferma tra i nuovi protagonisti della scena "country" statunitense arrivando fino alla sesta posizione in classifica. La canzone è il secondo singolo estratto dall'album e racconta dei danni devastanti che può provocare la droga; in questo caso il protagonista perde casa, famiglia e libertà.
