Lust For Life è una delle canzoni più famose di Iggy Pop, incisa nel 1977 nell'omonimo album dopo averla scritta assieme all'amico David Bowie: quest'ultimo per la musica, composta originariamente su di un ukulele, e lo stesso Iggy Pop per il testo. Il riff di batteria/chitarra probabilmente è ricalcato sul quello di Touch Me (1968) dei The Doors. Ad esso poi si sono reispirati altri brani di successo, tra cui più recentemente Are You Gonna Be My Girl dei Jet e Selfish Jean dei Travis. Celebre è divenuta l'antemprima eseguita dal vivo alla televisione olandese, in cui Iggy Pop a dorso nudo devasta lo scenario durante l'esibizione. Nel 1996 il brano ha guadagnato nuova popolarità grazie all'utilizzo durante l'introduzione del film Trainspotting.
