Notion è un brano composto e inciso dai The Rare Occasions, contenuto nel EP Futureproof pubblicato nel 2016. Quarto lavoro in studio per la rock band di Boston, chiude la serie degli Extended Play per aprire una nuova fase in cui daranno alla luce il loro primi disco di inediti Into the Shallows nel 2018. La canzone è scritta dal frontman Brian McLaughlin e diventa il loro maggior successo commerciale solo nel 2021, grazie a TikTok; analizza il mondo della religione dagli occhi di un non credente.
