Misty è un noto standard jazz interpretato dalle grandi voci "black", tra le quali spicca quella di Sarah Vaughan che la incide nel 1959. Pezzo che nasce come brano strumentale nel 1954 dalla penna del pianista Erroll Garner, diventa canzone cinque anni dopo grazie all'apporto di Johnny Burke; la prima incisione fu ad opera del cantante texano Johnny Mathis, per poi essere reincisa dalla grande Ella Fitzgerald e infine dalla stessa Sarah Vaughan... senza contare le numerose versioni postume in tanti stili diversi.
